When you walk through Vi\u00f1a del Mar, among gardens, palaces, and historic trails, it's easy to feel that the city has an elegance that sets it apart from the rest of the country. That European feel didn't come about by chance: much of it is due to the vision of an Italian architect who left a deep mark on the Garden City.
His name was Ettore Petri<\/strong>, a creator who came from Europe to beautify Vi\u00f1a with style, harmony, and character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Italy to the Garden City<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Petri arrived in Chile at the beginning of the 20th century. Vi\u00f1a del Mar was undergoing rapid modernization and seeking a more refined aesthetic, inspired by the trend-setting European cities.
